Explorers
Welcome to Trident Explorer Scout Unit, which is partnered with the 21st Medway Scout Group. The Unit meets weekly and organise a number of day or weekend activities on a regular basis. The highlight of the year is often an expedition or a weeks camp during the summer. Explorer Scouts get involved in all sorts of activities and events, because the programme is decided by the members, the only real limitation is your own ideas and ingenuity.
The Unit is run by the Leaders but the Unit members are responsible for managing the Unit, and elect a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and any other elected members who are responsible for;
- planning the unit programme
- assessing the award scheme
- managing the Units money
- maintaining Unit standards
Explorer Scouting awards represent some of the highest training awards that Scouting can offer. The award scheme helps the Unit to plan a balanced programme and enables each member to get something extra from Explorer Scouting.
There are no limits to Explorer Scouting, as with everything in life you will get out of Explorer Scouting what you put in to it, the quality of the Unit programme and the success of your Unit are in your hands.

Useful Information For New Members.
Subs.
As a new member you have four weeks to settle in without paying subs, although you will be expected to pay for any extra activities (i.e. swimming, camps etc), hopefully by this time you should have made up your mind as to whether or not you wish to stay and £10.00 a month will be payable thereafter.
Uniform.
Once you have decided to join the Unit you will need to obtain a Uniform which consists of Explorer Scout shirt, blouse or polo shirt, Scout trousers, culottes or skirt, Scout belt, neckerchief and black or brown shoes which you may already have.
If you have difficulty affording all this, please contact a Leader as we may be able to help in some way, and we would hate to see you put off for this reason alone.
Scout Shops.
With the exception of the neckerchief, available from us, all other uniform is available from...
- Online via our Uniform order form,
