Cub Badges and Awards
Membership Award.
A round purple badge with a white fleur-de-lys, presented to anyone making the promise and law on investiture and is common across all the sections. The badge, in one form or another, particularly the arrowhead design is recognised by Members of the Scout Movement across the world.


Participation Awards.
Badges presented to recognise a young persons commitment to Scouting. They are usually presented annually on the anniversary of the date they first joined Scouting for taking part in a balanced programme and a wide range of activities.
Challenge Badges.
Each section has a number of challenge badges that involve participation in activities within a particular theme. These include outdoor activities, global and environmental issues, living a healthy lifestyle, showing creative expression and staying away from home. Most challenges ask for a young person to do their best, just a few require a particular standard to be met.


Chief Scouts Award - Silver
To be awarded this a young person must complete all six challenge awards.

Activity Badges.
These are aimed at extending interests and skills, there are 35 in total available to Cubs and cover many different activities, hobbies and pursuits.
There are also staged activity badges, a young person from any section can gain whichever badge is appropriate to the level they have reached and work towards further stages at a later date as they become more accomplished.
Moving On Awards.
These introduce young people to the activities and training programme of the next section, they are designed to encourage progress from one section to another, introduce the young person to their new members and Leaders and strengthen the links between the sections in the Group and district.

The membership pack is full of fun activities as well as allowing you to keeping track of your progress. The badge books explain the requirements of all the above badges and awards.
